Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library is located in the centre of Wentworth Point, directly opposite Marina Square.

WPCCL is operated by the City of Parramatta. WPCG provides this page as a local information guide and does not operate the library or community centre.

Facilities and services at Wentworth Point Library

Wentworth Point is more than a traditional branch library. City of Parramatta lists facilities and services including:

Library members can also access the wider City of Parramatta Libraries network and its online resources. A library card can be used for borrowing and library equipment such as computers, printers and photocopiers, subject to the library’s current conditions and charges.

Computers and printing

City of Parramatta libraries provide public computers and printing and photocopying services. Some services require a current library membership card, and charges can apply to printing and photocopying.

Because computer session limits, printing charges and payment arrangements can change, check the current City of Parramatta library information if you are visiting specifically to print or use a computer.

Quiet study and after-hours access

One of the most useful features for local students and people working or studying outside standard business hours is the After-Hours Quiet Study space.

City of Parramatta currently lists the Quiet Study space as accessible from 9:00am to 11:00pm, Monday to Sunday, including periods outside the normal library opening hours. It is closed on public holidays, and Council notes that opening hours are subject to change.

Who can use after-hours quiet study?

After-hours access is not automatically available simply because you have a library card.

According to City of Parramatta, users must:

• be a City of Parramatta Library member
• be aged 16 or over
• opt in to use the Wentworth Point After-Hours Quiet Study space
• complete the required induction before their first after-hours visit
• agree to the applicable conditions of entry

This distinction is important if you are joining the library specifically to study in the evening.

Is Wentworth Point Library open 24 hours?

The main library is not open 24 hours. However, Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library has a 24-hour foyer that City of Parramatta library members can access using their membership card and PIN.

The foyer provides after-hours library facilities including a returns chute. This should not be confused with the Quiet Study Room, which currently operates until 11:00pm rather than 24 hours.

How to join Wentworth Point Library

Wentworth Point Library is part of the City of Parramatta Libraries network.

Library membership is free and is not restricted to people living in the City of Parramatta local government area. City of Parramatta advises new members to complete its online registration and then visit a branch with identification showing their name and current NSW residential address to obtain their library card.

A library membership provides access to borrowing as well as City of Parramatta’s digital library resources, including e-books and other online resources.

If after-hours quiet study is your main reason for joining, remember that you will also need to meet the separate age, opt-in and induction requirements described above.

Story Time, children’s activities and library programs

Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library hosts programs throughout the year. These programs are organised by the City of Parramatta and the library, not by WPCG unless a particular event explicitly states otherwise.

Justice of the Peace

Justice of the Peace services are also offered at Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library. Availability can vary, so check the current City of Parramatta JP calendar or contact the library before visiting specifically for JP services.

Meeting rooms, studios and community venue hire

The community centre component of WPCCL includes spaces that can be hired for meetings, workshops, classes, celebrations and other activities.

City of Parramatta lists bookable facilities including:

Some music studios include specialised recording equipment and software. Availability, room capacity, hire fees and booking conditions depend on the space and booking, so use City of Parramatta’s current venue-hire information rather than relying on older pricing or availability information.

Getting to Wentworth Point Library

From Rhodes

The library is accessible from Rhodes via Bennelong Bridge. City of Parramatta estimates the walk from Rhodes Station at approximately 17 minutes and the bicycle or scooter trip at approximately four minutes.

Bus routes 526 and 533 stop directly in front of the facility. Transport routes and timetables can change, so check current public transport information before travelling.

By ferry

The closest ferry stop is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. City of Parramatta describes the library as approximately a five-minute walk from the wharf.

Parking near Wentworth Point Library

Parking options identified by City of Parramatta include Marina Square Shopping Centre, Pierside Shopping Centre and time-limited street parking around the centre.

Parking limits and shopping-centre conditions can change, so always check the signs and current car-park conditions when you arrive rather than relying solely on published time limits.

Accessibility

City of Parramatta states that Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library is wheelchair accessible, with ambulant toilets throughout the building. Hearing augmentation is also available throughout the facility.
