Exciting News for Wentworth Point: The Gateway Sign is Finally Here!
As proud residents of Wentworth Point, we are thrilled to share some fantastic news with our community! The construction of the Wentworth Point Gateway has officially been completed, and we couldn’t be more excited about this significant addition to our suburb.
The new gateway, located at the bustling corner of Hill Road and Bennelong Parkway, is not just a welcome sign; it represents our community’s identity and enhances the arrival experience for both residents and visitors alike. With its beautiful design that includes the word “Welcome” in English, Dharug, Korean, and Chinese, it reflects the cultural diversity that makes Wentworth Point special.
Having had the opportunity to participate in the consultation stage of this project, we felt our voices were heard, and it is heartwarming to see that 78% of our fellow residents supported this initiative. The Council’s engagement with the community was commendable, and it’s encouraging to know that our feedback played a role in shaping this landmark.
The gateway sign, measuring an impressive 13 meters long and 1.7 meters tall, features a sleek design made of aluminum or timber batten mounted on a concrete blade wall. The stainlessel letters of our suburb’s name will surely catch the eye of everyone passing by, creating a vibrant first impression for newcomers and visitors alike.
We’re also pleased to learn that minor landscaping improvements will, adding a touch of greenery and beauty around the sign. We can’t wait see how these enhancements will further beautify our neighborhood.
This project, funded by a combination of Federal and Council funding, is a true testament to what our community can achieve when we come together. It’s a reminder of our shared commitment to making Wentworth Point an even better place to live.
